Lenovo S939 with 6” display, octa-core CPU coming soon

Now that the MT6592 is better available, more and more manufacturers are trying to have at lease one octa-core device in the market. Latest to join this league is China’s Lenovo, a company which is all set to launch the octa-core Lenovo S939 in the country.

The S939 comes with a 6-inch screen sporting a rather mediocre resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by the popular MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor, which has all its 8 cores based on the Cortex A7 architecture. As you would’ve guessed from the display resolution, the S939 is not meant to be a flagship anyway, but instead a ‘mid-range flagship’, perhaps. This is probably why the device comes with 1GB RAM instead of 2GB.

Besides an octa-core processor and 1GB of RAM, the Lenovo S939 comes with 8GB of storage on-board and a microSD slot for further expansion. Imaging is taken care of by an 8MP autofocus shooter on the rear accompanied by LED flash along with a 1.6MP front facer. Good thing about the device is that it comes with a solid 3000mAh battery that should hold up one day alright.

Thanks to the S939 being a large device, Lenovo have managed to keep thickness down to just 8.7mm.

No word on pricing as yet, but you can expect the device to go on sale in India at a price point of under 20,000 INR. The device will go against other octa-core phones in the country that include Micromax Canvas Knight, Intex Aqua Octa, etc.
