LG was among the first manufacturers to jump on to the Android Wear wagon when Google announced the operating system for watches. It announced its G Watch which will be based on it and looks like the G Watch has now got itself a price tag. LG has now officially stated that the G Watch will be launched in June for 199 Euros and you can expect it to be priced around the Rs 17,000-20,000 mark in India.
The G Watch carries forth the design philosophy of other smartwatches and has nothing new in terms of design but is an all new device on the inside. The watch is expected to come with a 1.65 inch display which will have a resolution of 280 x 280 pixels. The most interesting bit about the screen will be the “Always on” functionality. The G Watch will be water and dust proof. It will be offered in two different colour schemes: Stealth Black and Champagne Gold.
The display of the G Watch is expected to be sharper and better than that of the competition. It will come with Voice recognition as well to be your perfect companion. France will be the first country to get the watch with a global roll out expected after the same. Seeing the fact that LG has now started valuing the Indian market more than before, we are sure that it will come to us soon after the global roll out begins.
It will be up against the likes of the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Sony Smartwatch 2 when launched in India as even they are priced similarly. The only thing that the G Watch has going in its favour for the time being is its operating system which is expected to be a better performer than the competition and if priced right, it might just do wonders for LG in the wearable technology arena.
