Right after the Xolo A500S Lite, Xolo has quietly announced couple of smartphones. One of them is the success of Q600 and it is dubbed Xolo Q600s and the other is the Q1200 that can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat. As the Q lineup includes only quad-core smartphones, both these handsets are equipped with quad-core processors under their hood. Now, let us take a quick look at the detailed specifications of the Q1200 below.
Camera and Internal Storage
Xolo has packed standard camera capabilities to the Xolo Q1200 as the device boasts of an 8 MP Sony Exmor RS primary snapper with dual LED flash for improved low light imaging. At the front, the handset boasts of a 2 MP secondary camera that can contribute to quality video calling and great seflies. Since Xolo is using Sony Exmor Rs sensor, we expect Camera quality to be above average.
When it comes to storage, the Xolo Q1200 bundles an acceptable 8 GB of native storage space that can be further extended with the help of a micro SD card up to 32 GB. This is quite similar to the storage capacity of other phones in the same range.
Processor and Battery
Operating in the interior is a quad-core processor of unknown chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz speed. This processor is backed by 1 GB of RAM that can handle multiple applications at the same time. For a mid-range smartphone, this combination of a quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM is definitely a reasonable deal.
Battery capacity in the Xolo Q1200 is 2,000 mAh, which is somewhat disappointing as it is too low. These days, the entry-level smartphone market is too advanced and there are many phones coming with 2,000 mAh battery in the sub Rs 8,000 price range. However, the backup delivered by this battery remains unknown and only when we know the exact figures we can judge its performance.
Display and Features
The Xolo Q1200 features a 5 inch HD IPS display panel that carries a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and topped with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for damage resistance. Further, the IPS panel delivers excellent viewing angles, crisp colors and bright images without missing any details.
Running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the handset is upgradeable to Android 4.4 KitKat OS and it comes with several features such as Dual Window, Float Task and Voice Commands.
Users can unlock the Xolo Q1200, browse through the gallery and change tracks or video clips without touching by simply waving their hand over the display. Also, the Voice Recognition Technology helps when the user in voicing out commands instructing the phone to answer or reject calls, snooze alarms and more. Furthermore, the Q1200 packs standard connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPS along with USB OTG that lets users to transfer files between two devices without the necessity of a host.
