Karbonn Titanium S99 with Quad Core and Android KitKat at 5,990 INR

It’s raining quad core in sub 7,000 INR smartphone segment in Indian Market and after iBerry Auxus Linea L1, Karbonn has announced a challenger dubbed as Karbonn Titanium S99, priced for only Rs. 5,990.

Karbonn Titanium S99 will have a smaller 4 Inch display with yet unspecified resolution. The phone also flaunts latest Andorid 4.4 KitKat operating system fueled by 1.3 GHz Quad core MediaTek chipset, but the RAM capacity is only 512 MB which puts it out of the elite Moto E and Unite 2 league.

Internal storage is 4 GB, which can be further extended using MicroSD card slot. Considering the price range, there is no reason to complain. The Dual SIM smartphone will also have a 5 MP rear camera and a VGA front camera for those interested in video calling.

The battery capacity doesn’t sound too great at 1400 mAh and other connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Karbonn will also offer silicon case bundled inside the box.

The advantages of using Android OS, 4.4 KitKat are numerous. It takes system performance to a whole new level by offering better memory management. It provides all-in-one solution to user’s communication needs by providing upgraded Hangouts App supported with improved SMS & MMS integration. Hot ‘Ok Google’ feature predicts information based on user’s location, favourite sites and TV programs. The combination of these extraordinary features make KitKat a solid addition to the Android family,” said Shashin Devsare, Executive Director of Karbonn.

Karbonn S99 is not a perfect budget android phone, but because of the low price tag we haven’t got much reason to complain. It will compete against phones like Micromax Canvas Engage and iBerry Auxus Linea L1 and will be soon available for purchase.
