Philips has been launching smartphones in India since May with the S308, W6610 and W3500. The vendor already announced that it will be launching the I928 smartphone in the country pretty soon and as claimed the handset along with S388 have been listed on the official Philips India website. As per the listing, the I928 and S388 are priced at Rs 38,538 and Rs 13,694 respectively.
When it comes to the technical specifications, the Philips I928 features a 6 inch FHD 1080p display with 2.5D curved glass screen. The handset features narrow bezels around the screen and has a leather like back cover. Powering the device is an 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor that is paired with 2 GB of RAM for efficient multi-tasking and 700 MHz Mali 450-MP4 graphics engine.
The imaging department of the I928 is listed to include a 13 MP primary snapper teamed up with LED flash and FHD 1080p video recording and a 5 MP selfie front-facer. The Philips I928 packs an impressive 16 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded via a micro SD card. Other goodies onboard include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, dual SIM functionality and a 3,000 mAh battery.
On the other hand, Philips S388 is fitted with a standard 4.5 inch qHD IPS display boasting a screen resolution of 960×540 pixels. Running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the device will incorporate a quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor ticking at 1.3 GHz clock speed aided by 1 GB of RAM. The S388 bundles 4 GB of default storage space that can in turn be expandable.
Philips has given the S388 with a 5 MP rear snapper with LED flash for better low-light photography and a front-facing VGA camera for video calling. It does include the standard connectivity features such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and dual SIM support and a 1,700 mAh battery energizing it from within.
