It was only yesterday that Xolo launched its first octa core device named at the 8X-1000 with HIVE UI for Rs 13,999. Now it has quietly updated its website with the details of an upcoming smartphone named the Xolo A1000S. It is an entry level device and its price has been pegged at Rs 7,799.
The Xolo A1000S is aimed squarely at bringing the big screen experience on a budget. It gets a 5.0 inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels whic translates into a pixel density of 196 ppi. It gets only 2 finger multi-touch support. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat which is quite a good thing. It comes with a 1GHz dual core MTK6572M processor coupled with a 1GB RAM. We would have liked a quad core processor instead.
The internal storage is 4GB which can be further expanded by another 32GB with the help of a microSD card. At the back of the device is a 5MP camera with a LED flash and the front is adorned by a VGA camera. For connectivity, you get 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and aGPS. It is a dual SIM phone and gets dual speakers up front for a good auditory experience.
It comes in black and white colours. The company hasn’t officially announced the launch of the device but seeing the fact that its price has already been listed with the spec sheet, the launch shouldn’t be far enough either. The device somewhat misses out on the value for money factor and the soon to be launched Xiaomi Redmi 1S would give it quite a tough competition.
