Ever since Oppo took the wraps off the Oppo R5 smartphone measuring 4.85 mm to overtake Gionee Elife S5.1 and become the world’s slimmest smartphone, there are rumors regarding an even thinner Vivo smartphone.
China based Vivo has teased that it will be announcing a new smartphone called Vivo X5 Max that will be carrying a very thin profile measuring a mere 3.75 mm thickness. The teaser promo of the device does not reveal any concrete detail about the smartphone’s specifications. However, it shows the components beneath the screen.
The manufacturer has claimed that they have moved 90 percent of the internals to the sides of the display rather than housing them between the display and the back of the device in order to reduce the thickness.
Going by the previous reports, the Vivo X5 Max is speculated to arrive with a 5.5 inch FHD 1080p display and be powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek chipset aided by 2 GB of RAM. It is claimed to arrive with a 13 MP primary shooter and a 5 MP front facer and run on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.
Though there are few rumors going on regarding this device that could emerge as the world’s slimmest smartphone, we need to wait for the official announcement of the same to get them all confirmed.
