HTC is going to launch it’s first U-series smartphone, the HTC U Ultra in India. The company has sent out media invites for the event which is going to happen in New Delhi on February 21. HTC may launch the U Play as well along with HTC U Ultra but there is no confirmation yet.
HTC U Ultra is a high end device with a high end chip-set, quad-HD display and a secondary display. It is build up of glass on the front and back and metal frame on the edges which makes it look a really premium smartphone. The U Ultra comes in Sapphire Blue and Brilliant Black color options.
HTC U Ultra Specifications
The HTC U Ultra comes with two displays. Primary display is a 5.7 inch Super LCD 5 quad-HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution unit with a pixel density of ~513 ppi. Secondary display is a 2.0 inch unit with a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on 64GB variant and 128GB variant has Sapphire Glass protection.
Under the hood it is powered by a 64-bit Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.15 GHz with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB of internal storage or 128GB of internal storage option. The memory is further expandable up to 2TB via hybrid card slot.
Camera optics includes a 12MP (UltraPixel 2) on rear with f/1.8 aperture, 1.55um pixels, dual-tone LED flash, Laser autofocus, PDAF, and OIS. On the front it has got a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. It runs on Android Nougat (7.0) with HTC Sense UI skin on top. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, 3.5mm jack, and Type-C USB 3.1. It features HTC USonic, HTC Boom-Sound Hi-Fi edition, 3D Audio recording for enhanced audio experience. Sensors include light sensor, Proximity, Motion G-sensor, Compass, Gyro, Magnetic, Fingerprint sensor, and Sensor Hub.
It measures 162.41 x 79.79 x 7.99 mm and weighs 170 grams. The U Ultra also features a one-of-its-kind bio-metric voice unlock and control mechanism and an AI-powered assistant called HTC Sense Companion. The phone comes with glass on the front and back, along with a metal frame which reflects light differently when viewed at an angle – HTC calls it the liquid design.

Price & Availability
HTC U Ultra has been listed on HTC India eStore as coming soon. Since it’s not launched yet it’s hard to say anything about its availability or exact price. However HTC U Ultra costs £649 in UK which is roughly converts into Rs. 54,100. We will update you with the exact price and availability details once it gets launched.
