Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, 635 And 660 SoC To Be Revealed On May 9

One of the biggest chipset manufacturer companies, Qualcomm is gearing up to introduce its next series of chipsets to improve its chipset family. Yes, Qualcomm will reveal new chipsets in the Snapdragon 600 series on May 9. The company will launch the Snapdragon 630, Snapdragon 635 and Snapdragon 660.

Previously, it was confirmed that the company will introduce just Snapdragon 660 but, according to the recent tweet by @mmddj_china, the company might also reveal Snapdragon 635 and Snapdragon 630 SoC at the event. This tweet was made in response to the tweet made by tipster Roland Quandt, whose tweet stated, “I think you will like what Qualcomm wants to show you on May 8/9, if you liked what they did with SD65x and SD625.”

The Snapdragon 660 will be the successor to the Snapdragon 652 SoC but, the details related to Snapdragon 630 and 635 are still not clear. The Snapdragon 660 SoC might get Kryo cores similar to Snapdragon 820 or it can also use a combination of four Cortes-A73 CPUs clocked at 2.2 GHz and four Cortex- A53 CPUs clocked at 1.9GHz. The GPU coupled with the processor will be an Adreno 512.

According to earlier leaks, the Snapdragon 660 SoC will feature support for UFS 2.1 storage and have two LPDDR4 RAM modules clocked at 1866MHz. The SoC will go into mass production by the second quarter of the year and expected to power the upcoming Oppo and Vivo phones. In addition to these two, the processor will be also a part of Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Xiaomi Mi Max 2.
