The Taiwanese manufacturer has recently reduced the price of its VR systems in India. Yes, the HTC Vive prices are reduced by Rs 16,000, which makes the virtual reality system from the company more accessible.
With the recent price cut, the HTC Vive now comes at Rs 76,990. It also comes with a free trial to Viveport subscription, where consumers can choose up to 5 titles per month to experience some of the most popular pieces of VR content currently available. This includes Google’s Tilt Brush, Everest VR, and Richie’s Plank Experience.
The base Vive package comes with 2 base stations for accurate tracking, 2 motion controller for immersive VR experiences and improved connection cables with new materials that make the headset a little lighter. The number of developers is gradually increasing that are building experiences for Vive and it has become one of the top targets of the developers for creating content.
There are total 3,600 titles available across Steam and Viveport and with new AAA content arriving soon, there will be a lot more content. With Viveport Subscription, consumers can choose from over 250 pieces of content from a highly-curated offering, making the best VR content available in the market.
According to a report from Steam Statistics, HTC Vive has 60% share of Steam platform for high-end VR headsets. Over the past year, the HTC Vive has managed to hold the leading position in the market and with the recent price cut and more advanced technology, it looks to maintain its position, setting a benchmark for competitors.
