OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition launching in India on May 17

OnePlus 6 launch is nearing now as the Chinese phone maker has announced the launch date of its next flagship. The phone will be unveiled on May 16 in London and May 17 in India and China. Now, the company has confirmed that the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition will also be launched on May 17 in India and much like the regular variant, it will also be an Amazon exclusive.

As part of the recently announced partnership with Marvel, OnePlus has posted a teaser video detailing the launch of a limited-edition variant of the OnePlus 6 next month in India. The teaser also reveals other details, like a textured back and 19:9 display as well. With several leaks and teasers from the company, features and specifications of OnePlus 6 haven’t been unknown now.

The teaser video shows glimpses of the OnePlus 6 that sports a 19:9 display with a notch on top. It is shown to have a textured back that might be exclusive to the Marvel Avengers Limited Edition. Earlier this week, OnePlus had also announced that it would be giving out 6000 free movie tickets for Avengers: Infinity War on April 27, 28, and 29 in select theatres across India.

Also, this is not the first time OnePlus has partnered with Disney for the launch of a special edition smartphone. Previously, the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Edition was introduced on the release date of Disney’s another movie, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, this time the company might not be able to launch OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Limited Edition on the release date of the movie, as Avengers: Infinity War will be released in India on April 27.

As for specifications, the OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Edition will feature the same specs as regular variant. The phone is confirmed to get the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone will sport a notch display, a bottom chin, and a textured back.
