WhatsApp will soon get these three new exciting features

WhatsApp has been reportedly working on an update that will bring three new features to it. First, the Facebook-owned company is planning for the ability to link WhatsApp account with the Instagram account. Moreover, the other two new features are Vacation Mode and Silent Mode.

Account Linking

Starting with the account linking, as per WABetaInfo report the ability to link the WhatsApp account with other services was spotted on the WhatsApp Business app. However, some references for this feature have also been found on the regular WhatsApp. Though the feature has not been activated for any of the apps yet.

The Linked Account settings will be activated via Profile settings in WhatsApp. To link the Instagram account with WhatsApp, one needs to tap on Instagram and then entering the credentials for login. After logging in, the WhatsApp account will be linked to one’s Instagram account.

Vacation and Silent Modes

Coming to the other two features, there are Vacation and Silent Modes that are aimed at cutting down the time spent on the app. The Vacation Mode will be available in WhatsApp’s Notification Settings on all the platforms as a handy feature that will remove the hassle of archiving chats every time.

Currently, after you archive a chat and when a new message arrives on the archived chat, the chat will be automatically unarchived. But, it is going to change with Vacation Mode and it won’t unarchive the archived chat. So, if users don’t want to see a chat in their recent chats, they can archive it instead of deleting it and the chat will not be seen until you check manually.

The third feature is Silent Mode. It will hide the app badge for notifications from the muted chats. This feature is already available via third-party launchers but the Silent Mode could be a good feature for the users who mute chats but notifications from them show the badge on the app icon. As per the report, this feature will be activated by default and there is no toggle to turn it off or on.

All these new features are expected to make their way soon to all the WhatsApp platforms.
