Samsung Galaxy M40 price in India is Rs. 19,990 for the only 6GB+128GB version and it is available on Amazon. So, should you buy it for Rs. 20k when there are other options as well? We tell you reasons to buy Galaxy M40 and why not to buy it.

Reasons to Buy Galaxy M40

Latest Design

The Galaxy M40 sports curved glasstic rear panels in Midnight Blue and Seawater Blue colors. It has a glossy finish that looks premium. The device is quite compact as well as lightweight to hold on one hand.

Up front, it has a new punch-hole design which is new and unique for this segment. It is probably the biggest USP of Galaxy. The display is called Infinity-O type display as it has a small hole on top left corner for the selfie camera.

Powerful Performance

The device is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 675 processor paired with an Adreno 612 GPU. The Snapdragon 675 is a snappy mid-range processor and it is capable of handling the gaming and multitasking very well.

It is further paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Galaxy M40 comes with Android 9 Pie with One UI on top. As far as the software is concerned, you will experience a slew of features on the phone.

Overall, performance wise, you will not find any issue in Galaxy M40.

Triple Cameras

The Galaxy M40 sports a triple-camera setup with a 32-megapixel f/1.7 primary camera. It has a 5-megapixel depth camera and an 8-megapixel 123-degree wide-angle lens. The camera has features like portrait mode, slo-mo video recording, etc. There is a 16MP front shooter. All the cameras perform well in good lighting conditions.

Fast Charging

The Galaxy M40 is powered by a 3,500mAh battery that comes with support for 15W fast charging. Samsung offers bundled fast charger adapter with the box, which is a good thing in the segment.

Reasons Not to Buy Galaxy M40

LCD Display

Samsung has brought its Super AMOLED display panel to the mid-range segment with the Galaxy M and Galaxy A series. The Galaxy A30, M30, A50 all come with an AMOLED panel. However, the Galaxy M40 comes with an LCD panel which may not offer the same richness as AMOLED panel.

No 3.5mm Jack

Another disadvantage with Galaxy M40 is that it comes without a 3.5mm headphone jack. So, those who want to listen to music while the phone is charging will get disappointed. However, Samsung offers bundled Type C earphones with M40.

Small Battery

The Galaxy M40 packs a 3,500mAh battery which is smaller than most of the other mid-rangers. Even the Galaxy M30 has a 5,000mAh battery. This 3,500mAh battery can offer a day’s usage but it can not deliver the same result as a 4,000 or more mAh battery.

Conclusion

Samsung has made the competition tougher in Rs 20,000 segment with a number of phones including Galaxy A50 and now this Galaxy M40. Both the phones offer some latest features and have a few things in common. If you want to go for an AMOLED panel, bigger battery, and 3.5mm jack, Galaxy A50 is the phone for you. But, if you are looking for a new design and powerful performance, you should buy the Galaxy M40.
