Samsung Galaxy A31 Launched in India for Rs. 21,999; Should You Buy?

Samsung just launched the Galaxy A31 smartphone in India. The company’s latest mid-range phone in Galaxy A series is the successor to last year’s Galaxy A30 and comes with a few changes. The key features of the new Galaxy A31 are a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display, Helio P65 processor with 6GB of RAM, quad rear cameras with a 48-megapixel camera, a 20-megapixel front camera, and a huge 5000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.

Design & Display

The new Galaxy A31 has a glass and plastic body, which is called glasstic and comes with a dual-tone finish on the back. It comes in Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush Blue, Prism Crush Red, and Prism Crush White colors. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Upfront, there is a 6.4-inch Full HD+(2400 x 1080 pixels) Infinity-U type Super AMOLED display.

Performance

The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P65 12nm processor with ARM Mali-G52 GPU. It packs 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB storage, which is expandable up to 512GB via micro SD card. The smartphone runs on Android 10 with One UI 2.0 on top.

Cameras

The quad-camera setup on the back comes with a 48MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, an 8MP 123° ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor. There is a 20MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Connectivity

The phone comes with a dedicated dual SIM and microSD card slots. Other connectivity features are Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C.

It also comes with Samsung Pay for touchless payments.
