Facebook is trying to expand its Messenger rooms feature to almost every app. Recently WhatsApp and Instagram got this feature in the updates where users can join the Messenger Rooms from directly inside the app. Rooms on Messanger is a really great video chat which allows up to 50 participants at once.
This feature is still in beta on WhatsApp but it has been rolled out to all Instagram users. It lets you join or create the Messenger Rooms even if you don’t use the Facebook Messenger. Here is a small step by step guide to tell you about how you can do it using the Instagram app.
Steps to Create Messenger Room from Instagram
- Launch the Instagram app and swipe left on the home screen to switch to the Direct messages screen. You can also tap the DM icon on the top right corner.
- Tap on the video call icon on the top toolbar and tap on Create a room option inside it.
- This will create a Messenger Room, you will be then able to invite your friends to that room via an Invite link provided.
- You can also share the Invite link to your friends via WhatsApp.
Now to join a room is pretty simple, you only have to click the link which you got. You will automatically redirect to the app and join the Room automatically.
