Mi QLED TV 4K 55-inch FAQs: Everything to Know About Xiaomi’s First QLED TV in India

Xiaomi launched a new smart TV in India yesterday. Dubbed as Mi QLED TV 4K, the company’s latest Android TV comes with Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, and Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) support. The 55-inch 4K TV has ultra-slim bezels so it offers more screen space and that too very bright and colorful. It runs on Android 10 with Patchwall and supports Google Assistant and built-in Chromecast. Q. How is the build quality of Mi QLED TV? 

A. The new Mi TV 4K features an Aluminum alloy frame with a sandblasting coating on the sides and a carbon finish on the back. This makes it sturdy as well as premium looking. It has ultra-slim bezels at the front offering a 96% screen to body ratio on a 55-inch screen.

So, a metal body, slim bezels, and carbon finish make the overall build quality of the TV very good. It is worth the price in terms of looks and build.

Q. How is the display and picture quality of Mi QLED TV 4K?

A. The Mi QLED TV has a 55-inch 4K (3840 × 2160 pixels) display with a 178-degree viewing angle. It offers 100% NTSC Color Gamut and 95% DCPI-3 color gamut and has features like Reality Flow, Auto Low Latency Mode, etc. The display is very bright (2000nits brightness) and it offers rich colors because of the QLED panel.

The display has HLG technology that enables the display of high-quality visuals and extended color gamut with HDR, which in result offers a stunning picture quality.

Q. How is the picture quality in dark rooms and in lowlight?

A. Mi QLED TV has quantum dot technology to emit more colors even in dim light because of QLED panel that has an extra layer of LEDs between the two panels so that they offer more brightness.

Q. What is the difference between OLED and QLED TV?

A. The QLED TV uses quantum dot technology which is equipped with nanocrystals that emit light and pure colors to enhance image resolution and brightness on the screen. So it is more visible and colors are richer in QLED in comparison to OLED.

Q. How Mi QLED TV 4K is different from other TVs?

A. The new Mi TV uses quantum dot technology to offer rich colors and vibrant images. It is also equipped with Reality Flow tech that offers blur-free rendering of action-packed content like sports, games, etc. Moreover, it comes with a dedicated MEMC chip which reduces motion blur, stuttering, and ghosting for more clarity.

Q. How is the audio quality of Mi QLED TV?

A. The new Mi TV supports higher bandwidth audio with Automatic Low Latency Mode and 5ms Input Lag at 4K 60fps for the best audio experience. You can also connect soundbars to experience lossless audio and the ALLM helps in reducing the latency.

The TV sports a 30W 6-speaker set-up with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters and Xiaomi claims that these can offer about 233% more volume than a typical LED TV. It also supports Dolby Audio and DTS-HD.

Q. How is the OS running on Mi QLED TV and what apps can be used? 

A. The new Mi TV runs Android 10 with Patchwall which is a neat UI and offers a dedicated tab for movies, TV shows, sports, and Discover. However, you can also switch to native Android TV as well and use all the Google apps.

Q. What shortcuts does the Mi QLED TV remote has? 

A. The Mi QLED TV Remote has all the necessary buttons including shortcuts for Google Assistant, Netflix, and Prime Video. It also features Mi Quick actions such as Mute by double tap volume down key, Quick Setting by long-press Mi button, and Mi Quick Wake (Turn on the TV in less than 5 sec).

Q. What are the connectivity features available on Mi TV QLED 4K?

A. The new Mi QLED TV has all the connectivity features including dual-band WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), and Bluetooth 5.0. The TV has 3 x HDMI 2.1 (1 contains ARC) ports, 2 x USB ports, and an Ethernet port. More importantly, it also features a 3.55mm headphone jack.
