Hide Your Profile Picture in Telegram
Under the privacy controls, you can choose to show your Telegram profile picture only to selected contacts or hide it completely from people you want. Below is how you can do it on Android or iOS.
On Android
- Open the Telegram app on your Android phone.
- Click the hamburger menu at the top-left corner.
- Select Settings from the available options.
- Now, click on Privacy and Security and tap Profile Photos.
- If you want only your contacts to see your profile picture, set it to My Contacts.
- If you want to hide your Telegram profile picture from certain people, tap Never Allow under Add exceptions and select the contacts or groups.
- Click the Done button.

On iOS (iPhone / iPad)
- Open the Telegram app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Click on Settings at the bottom right corner.
- On the next screen, tap on Privacy and Security.

- If you want only your saved contacts to see the profile picture, select My Contacts.
- If you want to hide your Telegram profile picture from someone, tap Never Share With under Exceptions and pick the contacts you want to hide your profile picture from.

a. Hide Your Contact Number from Others
Telegram gives you the freedom to hide your number from others on the platform- you can chat using a username instead. This will prevent your number from being exposed to other people.
- Open Telegram on your phone.
- Head to Settings > Privacy and Security > Phone Number.
- Select My Contacts if you want your number to be displayed only to your contacts.
- OR Select Nobody if you want to hide your contact number completely.
When asked, select a username that will appear for your contacts on Telegram instead of the mobile number.
b. Hide Your Online and Last Seen Status
- Open Telegram on your phone.
- Head to Settings > Privacy and Security > Profile Photos.
- Select My Contacts and tap Apply.
c. Prevent Strangers from Adding you to Groups
