HTC U11 With Edge Sense Squeeze, Snapdragon 835 Processor Announced

HTC has launched a new flagship smartphone, dubbed as HTC U11. This smartphone comes with a lots of new features and innovation. This smartphone boasts all the high end specifications and comes in a very premium build with liquid glass design.

The main highlight of this smartphone is the new squeeze input feature which lets you to do multiple tasks via squeeze gestures. It has got a pressure sensitive squeezable metal sides as part of the new Edge Sense feature which lets the phone to sense all gestures.

Additionally the phone is IP67 certified which makes it water and dust resistant which makes the device more interesting. It also features two voice assistants, Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa. However Alexa will be available only for selected markets. Sadly this smartphone lacks a 3.5mm audio jack but features a lots of audio enhancements.

The smartphone will be offered in Silver, Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, Ice White, and Solar Red color options. It pricing starts from EUR 749 (roughly Rs. 53,000) in Europe and $749 (roughly Rs. 48,000) in U.S. and is up for pre-order.

HTC U11 Specifications

HTC U11 feature a 5.5 inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) Super LCD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood it runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chip-set paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. It comes with either 64 GB or 128 GB of storage.

On the rear, the HTC U11 houses a 12 MP camera with 5 axis-OIS, EIS, f/1.7 aperture, 1.4μm pixel, BSI sensor, dual LED flash and always-on HDR Boost feature. On the front, it has got a 16-megapixel front camera with BSI sensor. The rear camera can shoot slow-motion and 4K video recording.

It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with company’s own Sense UI on top. It is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and company claims that it can give 14 days of standby time.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC support and USB 3.1 Type-C port. The device comes with a uni-body design and sports 3D glass both on the front and back of the device.

The phone also features a front mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone also has lots of audio enhancing features like HTC USonic earbuds with active noise cancellation, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, 3D audio recording with four microphones, and Hi-res audio certified.

Pricing and Availability

The HTC U11 is priced at EUR 749 (roughly Rs. 53,000) in Europe and $749 (roughly Rs. 48,000) in US. It will be offered in Amazing Silver, Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, Ice White, and Solar Red colour options and is up for pre-order in Europe and US. The device will soon be launched in India.
