Lenovo, the hardware manufacturing giant from China, better known for desktops and laptops in India, have unveiled their contender for the quad core category in the Indian market in the form of the S920. This smartphone packs decent hardware and comes with a price tag of 19,999 INR, which is on the higher side when compared to similar offerings from domestic manufacturers.
The phone was actually launched a few months back, in April to be precise. However, the phone was not in stocks until now.
The smartphone comes with a 5.3 inch screen which sports an HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels. This is the same resolution we saw on the Micromax Canvas HD, but on a smaller (5 inch) screen. As is the case with most domestic and Chinese manufacturers, the phone comes with a processor from Mediatek, the MT6589. This processor comes with 4 cores, based on the Cortex A7 platform, all of which are clocked at a frequency of 1.2 GHz.
The device packs 1GB of RAM, which has pretty much become the standard these days. There’s 4GB of ROM which can be extended up to 32GB via a microSD card. Speaking of camera and imaging, the device comes with an 8MP main camera which sits at the rear, and a 2MP front camera for video calling.
The phone comes with other standard features like GPRS, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, FM radio, WiFi, etc. Since all these features will require some power, the phone comes with a battery rated 2250mAh, which is claimed give 25hrs of backup on 2G (talktime), and 12hrs on 3G. As seen on most other phones based on the Mediatek platform, the S920 also comes with dual SIM support.
The phone is priced at 19,999 INR, and is currently available on major online stores.
