Obi Racoon S401 Gets Listed on Company Website

Update: Obi Racoon is available for sale via online marketplace Saholic with a price tag of Rs 4,190.

Obi Mobiles appears to be on launch spree as the vendor is coming up with new smartphones. Earlier this month, the firm listed three smartphones on its official website and now it has come up with yet another offering called Racoon S401.

The Obi Racoon S401 is a dual SIM smartphone that is pre-installed with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. The handset boasts of a 4 inch display that carries a WVGA screen resolution of 480×800 pixels. Under its hood, the Racoon S401 equips a 1 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor that is teamed up with 512 MB of RAM that should suffice for Android KitKat to sail through efficiently.

The Obi smartphone packs in 4 GB of internal storage capacity that can be expanded externally by another 32 GB using a micro SD card. Also, there is a 5 MP fixed focus primary camera at the back of the Obi Racoon S401 that is accompanied by LED flash and a 2 MP front facer for making video calls and for clicking self portrait shots.


Connectivity aspects of the Obi Racoon S401 include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB and dual SIM functionality. There is a 1,500 mAh battery that is claimed to render up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 180 hours of standby time respectively.

As of now, there is no official word regarding the pricing and availability of the Obi Racoon S401 smartphone, but we believe that the smartphone would go official soon. Also, from its specifications we can infer that it would be priced in the sub Rs 8,000 price bracket.
