Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is expected to launch the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus with under display fingerprint sensor soon. While the smartphones were launched in October last year, Vivo is expected to re-launch the X20 and X20 Plus with under-display fingerprint sensor.
Vivo, in collaboration with Qualcomm became the first company to demonstrate under-display fingerprint sensors. Also, Synaptics, the company that recently announced that it has started mass production of under display fingerprint sensors has confirmed Vivo as one of the OEMs adapting it. PhoneRadar has spotted the Vivo X20 Plus UD in the 3C certifications website.
Vivo X20 Specifications
While the company recently introduced the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus back in China and the company is expected to unveil another variant soon, named as the Vivo X20 Plus UD and this model is expected to come with an under-display fingerprint sensor.
For the uninitiated, the Vivo X20 and X20 Plus vary only in terms of screen and battery size and all the other specifications remain the same. The X20 comes with a 6.1-inch display and the X20 Plus comes with a 6.43-inch panel. Both of these are AMOLED displays with 18:9 aspect ratio. The new model may come with thinner bezels as the fingerprint sensor will move under the display
Coming to optics, the Vivo X20 features a rear dual camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 5MP sensor. At the front, the device features a 12MP camera with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies.
In terms of hardware, they are powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM. The phone comes with 64GB of internal storage, which is further expandable via microSD card up to 256GB.
The Vivo X20 is powered by a 3,245mAh battery while the X20 Plus variant comes with a larger 3,905mAh battery.
