Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has started sending out invites for its first launch of 2018 in India. The launch poster is pointing towards the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 which will be launched in India on February, 14. Now, Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart has listed the teaser for the phone and it hints that the phone is Flipkart exclusive and will be available on February 14 itself.
Earlier, Xiaomi India had announced the launch event on Redmi India twitter handle. Now, the same post with the hashtag #GiveMe5 and a video has been posted on Flipkart which hints that the device launching on Feb 14 is the Redmi Note 5. It will be the successor to the Redmi Note 4 that was a top-selling smartphone in India last year. The Flipkart teaser shows the Note 5 will be offering more than Redmi Note 4.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Specifications
Coming to the expected specifications, as reported earlier the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to come with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 or Snapdragon 636 processor. Memory wise, we could see up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Other specifications of the Redmi Note 5 are a single 16MP primary camera, 5MP front camera, and a 4,100mAh battery. Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Infrared and other connectivity options are expected to remain the same as before. It is expected to run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top.
Additionally, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has also been leaked in a recent concept video and renders which show the dual rear camera setup along with 18:9 display. This suggests that Xiaomi could launch two variants of the phone in India just like the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus in China. So, another variant of the Redmi Note 5 might feature a dual camera at the back.
