Xiaomi announces that over 4 lakh units of Redmi 5 will go on sale on March 20

Xiaomi has today announced that over 4 lakh units of the recently launched Redmi 5 will be available for the first sale of the smartphone on March 20. This time company is putting a larger quantity on sale compared to 3 lakh units for the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro that were sold out in 3 minutes during the first sale.

Xiaomi launched its latest budget smartphone Redmi 5 in India just last week. The company announced at the time of launch that it will be available exclusively via Amazon.in alongside Mi.com and Mi Home Stores starting March 20. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 price in India starts at Rs. 7,999.

Now, Xiaomi India aims at the first sale of the smartphone with a great number so that users that are looking for the budget Redmi 5 will be able to get the phone in the flash sale. “Mi fans! We heard you and just to meet your overwhelming love, we are bringing the largest quantity ever,” Redmi India tweeted on Monday.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 price in India starts at Rs. 7,999 for the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage version. The 3GB+32GB version costs Rs. 8,999 and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version Redmi 5 is priced at Rs. 10,999. Xiaomi is also offering Rs. 2,200 cashback offer and 100GB additional 4G data for Reliance Jio customers. Also, there is 5% instant discount with SBI Credit Card. Amazon India is also offering 90% (up to Rs. 400) discount on Kindle eBooks along with the purchase of Redmi 5.

To recall the specs, the Redmi 5 sports a 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 full-screen display and is powered by Snapdragon 450. It comes with up to 4GB RAM, runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top.

Camera wise, it has a 12-megapixel rear camera with 1.25μm pixel size sensor, a 5-megapixel front camera with selfie flash. The device also has a fingerprint sensor on the back and packs a 3,300mAh battery. The Redmi 5 comes in Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Lake Blue colors.

Along with the first sale of Redmi 5 on Amazon.in and Mi.com, the recently launched Mi TV 4A, and Mi TV 4 will also go sale via Flipkart and Mi.com.
