Wickedleak Wammy Passion Z VS Lava Iris 504Q Comparison Review

Wickedleak recently released the Wammy Passion Z which packs a full HD display panel along with a powerful quad core processor. The Iris 504Q comes from Lava, the Indian manufacturer renown for producing cost effective smartphones. The Iris 504Q comes with a 720p HD panel and packs the same quad core processor as that on the Wammy Passion Z. However, it packs an interesting feature, i.e, gesture control, which is a first in this category of phones.

This post will help you choose either one if you’re confused as to which one will suit your needs better.

Display And Processor

As we mentioned above, the Wammy Passion Z comes with a 5 inch full HD display panel (1920x1080p), while the Lava Iris 504Q comes with the same sized display but lesser resolution. The 504Q packs only 1280×720 pixels in the 5 inches, which means the Wammy Passion Z wins the battle when it comes to display resolution. You can expect pictures to be crisp and clear on the Wammy Passion Z, while a little detail will be lost on the 504Q’s display panel.

Processor wise, there is nothing at all to choose from; both the phones pack literally the same processor, i.e., the MediaTek MT6589. The MT6589 is a tried and tested low cost option for budget phones. Even the amount of RAM on both the phones is the same at 1GB; however you can expect the 504Q to be a little more smoother thanks to the lesser resolution, which means it will be less taxing on the CPU/GPU.

Camera And Memory

The Wammy Passion Z wins the camera battle, thanks to the 12MP rear and 2MP front cameras it comes with. The 12MP camera is capable of 1080p video recording, and comes with a BSI sensor for low-light photography. The front 2MP camera is capable of being used with Skype.

On the other hand, the Lava 504Q comes with an 8MP rear sensor and a VGA front camera, both of which fall short of the ones on the Wammy Passion Z. You can expect the Wammy Passion Z to capture much better pictures when compared to the Lava Iris 504Q.

Coming to internal storage, both phones come bundled with 4GB of on-board storage and an option to use microSD cards of up to 32GB in size.

Battery And Features

The Wammy Passion Z  comes with a hefty 2500mAh battery, while the Iris 504Q packs a 2000mAh unit. You can expect about the same runtime on both the phones since the Wammy Passion Z will have more juice intake thanks to the full HD display. Both these phones should be able to take you through on work day pretty easily, but might have a tough time if you are a heavy user.

The Lava Iris 504Q, as stated above, comes with an interesting feature, gesture control. This allows you to control a few apps with gestures, for eg the Gallery app, much like what’s seen in the Samsung Galaxy S4.
