LG as just launched the LG G2 Mini ahead of the MWC and the device will be up against the Minis from the likes of Samsung and HTC. But one device that is going to take the Minis of the smartphone world is the Moto G, which is going to cost less than half of these and will beat them in terms of value for money. So let us compare LG G2 Mini and Moto G to find out which one is better.
Display and Processor
The LG G2 Mini comes with a 4.7 inch screen which has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. That is pretty much what you get in sub Rs 10,000 devices and we are pretty sure it is going to cost way more than that. The Moto G gets a 4.5 inch screen with a resloution of 1280 x 720 pixels that looks way better than that of the G2 Mini.
The LG G2 Mini will be available with a choice of two processors. One of them will be the 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC unit while the other one will be a 1.7Ghz quad core Tegra 4i unit that is expected to offer a pretty snappy performance. The Moto G gets the same Snapdragon 400 as the LG G2 Mini so expect similar levels of performance in that regard.
Camera and Memory
The LG G2 Mini gets an 8MP rear camera with a LED flash which will be joined in by a 1.3MP front camera as well. The Moto G on the other hand gets a 5MP rear camera with a LED flash and a front camera with the same resolution as the G2 Mini. Seeing the fact that they are expected to have a huge price difference, you’d be better off with the Moto G if you are not into imaging big time.
The LG G2 Mini will come shod with an internal storage capacity of 8GB which will be available for expansion via a microSD card. The LG G2 Mini however comes in two variants with non expandable storage capacities of 8GB and 16GB.
Battery and Features
The LG G2 Mini comes with a 2,440 mAh battery unit which is a removable unit whereas the Moto G gets a 2,070 mAh battery. The latter has been rated to last a day while the official ratings about the LG G2 Mini have not been released yet. The LG G2 Mini will last a day or little less than that in real world conditions.
Both the devices run on Android 4.4 KitKat. However, the G2 Mini gets a slew of features such as Guest Mode, Knock ON, Quick Memo and the likes which are present in the LG G2. It will come with 4G LTE connectivity as well which the Moto G misses out on. Another feature the Moto G misses out on is the NFC connectivity.

Conclusion
The LG G2 Mini carries forward the legacy of Minis from other companies like HTC and Samsung. Pricing will be the key and we do not expect the same to match the pricing of Moto G. So the Moto G comes across as a better value for money alternative if you can compromise on a few features which we think won’t be worth the price difference.
