Gionnee is taking on the big guns of the smartphone arena with its Elife series. Its flagship device, Elife E7 has been performing well and now the same has been joined in by Elife S5.5 which is the world’s slimmest smartphone. Gionee is a well known smartphone manufacturer in China and is slowly getting a strong footing in India as welll. Let us compare the two siblings to find out which one is better.
Display and Processor
The Elife S5.5 features a 5 inch full HD display which is a Super AMOLED unit and will have stunning blacks and an amazing contrast. The Elife E7 features a 5.5 inch IPS display which has a full HD resolution as well. So you need not worry about viewing angles in this one. Both the smartphones have an amazing display but it is up to you as to which size do you favour more.
Under the hood of the Elife E7 is a quad core Snapdragon 800 processor which has been clocked at 2.26 GHz and is the best smartphone processor till date. Its sibling, the Elife S5.5 has a 1.7 GHz Octa Core MT6592 chipset which offers a performance level pretty much similar to it so you’d be happy either ways.
Camera and Memory
A 16MP autofocus camera with a LED flash is present on the Elife E7 and it teams up with an 8MP front camera unit. The Elife S5.5 on other hand gets a slightly lower speced imaging department with a 13MP snapper at the rear and a 5MP snapper up front. So this round goes to the Elife E7.
Both the smartphones do not feature expandable memory slots. The Elife E7 is available is two variants: 16GB with 2GB RAM and the other one is a 32GB unit with 3GB RAM. The Elife S5.5 however is available only in 16GB internal storage guise with a 2GB RAM.
Battery and Features
The Elife E7 features a 2,500 mAh battery unit which we think is pretty less for a device of this caliber. It probably would last under a day on a single charge if you are a heavy user but you might just manage a day on a single charge if you are a light to moderate user. The Elife S5.5 gets a 2,300 mAh battery which again we feel is pretty less and will last for a similar duration as its sibling.
The Elife E7 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and so does its sibling, the Elife S5.5. Both of them run Amigo 2.0 UI on top of Jelly Bean which we think is not a pretty smart move and stock Android would have been more than welcome. So it is pretty much a tie in this regard. Elife E7 is the world’s slimmest smartphone with a thickness of merely 5.5 mm.

Conclusion
The Elife E7 has a bigger screen, better camera, better memory and a better processor but the Elife S5.5 is the world’s slimmest smartphone with a thickness of just 5.5 mm. Moreover, it will be slotted below the Elife E7. If Gionee prices it below the Elife E7, nothing better than that. But for the time being, the Elife E7 is a better device.
