Acer today unveiled the Iconia W4 3G tablet, a device with an 8 inch screen and the Windows 8.1 OS, with a price tag of 29,999 INR in the country.
The Iconia W4 3G is powered by a 4th gen Intel Atom processor, clocked at 1.8 GHz (Z3740). Along with the Atom processor, the Iconia tablet comes with 2GB of RAM which should make it a decent multitasker. Acer have done well to include 64GB of on-board storage which can further be expanded by another 128GB via means of a microSD card.
As the name suggests, the Iconia W4 3G tablet comes with 3G on-board and boasts a battery life of up to 10 hours (web browsing) and 8 hours (video) on a single charge, which is impressive for a tablet this size. The 8 inch screen on the W4 3G features a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and features a wide 170 degree viewing angle thanks to the IPS technology that’s employed. Besides that, Acer have also used ZAG (Zero Air Gap) to further reduce the space between the display and digitizer for a better reading experience.
On the imaging front, the device features a 5MP rear camera, capable of recording videos in 1080p and a 2MP front. The aforementioned battery life antics are performed by a 2 cell, LiPo battery with a 4960mAh capacity. The device can be pre-ordered starting today, with pre-order customers set to receive a free crunch cover worth 3,000 INR.
