China based smartphone manufacturer was long awaited to announce the release of its flagship model Find 7 in India. This has come to fruition as Oppo Find 7 has been released for a price tag of Rs 37,990 along with the Oppo Find 7a priced at Rs 31,990. These handsets will go on sale starting from the next month, but they are definitely going to face a tough competition with the already existing high-end devices. One such top-tier phone is the Samsung Galaxy S5 that has gone on sale in India for a price of Rs 51,500. The Oppo Find 7 features a larger 5.5 inch QHD IPS display that boasts an eye-popping QHD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and a stunning pixel density of 534 pixels per inch. On the other hand, the Galaxy S5 comes with 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a pixel density of 432 ppi. Both these display panels are layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to prevent them from scratches and damage. In comparison, the Galaxy S5 features the Exynos 5 Octa chipset that comprises of a 1.9GHz quad-core Cortex A15 processor and a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor. Though the latter comes with an octa-core chipset it does not deliver true octa-core performance and it has only 2 GB of RAM, while there is a bigger 3 GB of RAM for efficient multi-tasking and smoother performance.

Camera and Internal Storage

For imaging, the Oppo Find 7 features a 13 MP primary camera at its back that comes with a Sony IMX214 CMOS chip with 4K video recording and Super Zoom feature that can enable it to click 10 snaps and merge them into a single 50 MP picture. Also, there is a 5 MP front-facing snapper that can be useful in high quality video calling and capturing great selfies.


On the other hand, the Galaxy S5 gets a 16 MP camera at the rear with HDR, simultaneous HD video and image capture and other standard features alongside a 2 MP snapper at the front to assist in making video calls. Both the camera’s won’t disappoint you with their performance.

When it comes to storage capacity, the Find 7 packs 32 GB of internal storage space, whereas the Galaxy S5 arrives in two variants – 16 GB and 32 GB of native storage capacity. The Oppo Find 7 features a 3,000 mAh battery that comes with Rapid Charge technology to charge the device up to 75 percent in just 30 minutes. On the other hand, the Galaxy S5 features a 2,800 mAh battery that is claimed to deliver a decent backup under mixed usage.

While the Galaxy S5 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the Oppo Find 7 is fueled by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. Otherwise, there are connectivity issues such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, USB OTG and NFC. However, the Galaxy S5 excels in this segment with the presence of an Infrared port.
