So long, Gionee was a predominant Chinese smartphone maker that has been luring the Indian consumers with its solid offerings that were priced competitively. While both the India based vendors and the global players were facing a tough competition with Gionee’s smartphones, another Chinese vendor has crossed the border. The talk is about Oppo that has been much awaited to enter the smartphone market in the country. Now, Oppo has released couple of its smartphones – Find 7 and Find 7a. But, how well do these handsets compete with the already existing models is a big question in the minds of many. Here is a detailed comparison between the Gionee Elife E7 and the Oppo Find 7a to show how well they stack up against each other.
Display and Processor
Both, Gionee Elife E7 and Oppo Find 7a flaunt 5.5 inch IPS LCD display panels that possess a FHD screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels translating to 401 ppi pixel density. Obviously, being IPS panels with FHD resolution these displays deliver exceptional viewing angles without any pixilation. Also, both the panels are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating to prevent from everyday wear and tear. While both the panels score the same, the Gionee offering scores more with the One Glass Solution (OGS) technology to make it slim.
Talking of raw hardware, the Gionee phone is stuffed with a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. On the other hand, the Oppo Find 7a employs a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset. Both the processors are teamed up with Adreno 330 GPU to handle the graphics department. GPU is clocked at higher frequency in Adreno 330 GPU.
Furthermore, the Gionee phone comes in two variants – one with a slower processor and the other with a faster clock speed. The slower one incorporates 2 GB of RAM as in the Find 7a, whereas the faster one uses 3 GB of RAM for superior multi-tasking. On the other hand, the Oppo Find 7a has a 2 GB of RAM onbaord.

It uses a Largan M8 lens with 1/2.3 inch sensor that can capture more light and deliver superior quality even during low light conditions. Also, there is an 8 MP front-facer that can help in capturing great looking selfies and in making high quality video calls.
On the other hand, the Oppo offering comes with a 13 MP primary snapper with autofocus and dual LED flash that is an added advantage. This snapper also has panorama, HDR and 2160 video calling ability. There is a 5 MP front-facing shooter as well onboard. Elife E7 which claims to feature world’s most sensitive camera, will have an edge over Find 7a in Imaging department.
On the storage front, the Gionee Elife E7 arrives in two variants – 16 GB and 32 GB of internal storage space and there is no option to expand this storage capacity as the device lacks a micro SD card slot. In comparison, the Oppo Find 7a features 16 GB of onboard storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB with the help of a micro SD card.
