HTC has unveiled HTC Butterfly 2, another plastic variant of HTC One M8 in Japan today and the same will be heading to Asian markets including India. What primarily differentiates it from HTC One E8, other HTC One variant, is the presence of duo cam feature on the rear side.
The rear camera uses the same 13 MP f/2.0 sensor which we saw in E8, but a 2 MP depth sensor is also present for selective focus and other camera effects. The autofocus camera unit with 28 mm lens and Dual LED flash is also paired with a 5 MP front shooter also capable of full HD 1080p recording.
The 9.99 mm thick body is dust and water resistant certified and houses a 5 inch full HD Super LCD3 panel similar to other HTC high end devices. Also present is Snapdragon 801 quad core performance beast clocked at 2.5 GHz , aided by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB/32 GB expandable storage.
Battery capacity is 2700 mAh. The dual front facing stereo speakers with built in Amplifier are also present as always, but this time, HTC has also partnered with HARMAN for JBL LiveStage Signal Processing Technology for better audio output. You will also find exclusively designed JBL in-ear-headphones bundled with this device.
Other features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX codec, NFC and GPS with GLONASS. HTC Butterfly 2 is a premium high end HTC device which will retail in Red, White and Blue colors starting from Taiwan on September 2.
