Microsoft Lumia 535 VS Nokia Lumia 730 Comparison Overview

After months of acquiring the Finnish handset manufacturer Nokia, Microsoft announced the first ever self branded Lumia smartphone – Lumia 535 this week. The smartphone goes in sync with what the entry-level and mid-range Lumia smartphones as it features similar specifications and features with not much difference. Runnung on Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Denim update, the device can definitely provide a much better user experience, but how different it is from the newly launched Lumia 730 should be pondering the minds of many. Display and Processor

There is a 5 inch IPS LCD display on the Lumia 535 and this panel carries a qHD resolution of 960×540 pixels that translates to a pixel density of 220 pixels per inches. In comparison, the Lumia 730 flaunts a 4.7 inch ClearBlack OLED display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and 316 pixels per inch. Both the screens are pretty strong as they are layered with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for to resist scratches. Though both the screens are pretty usable, the Lumia 730 would definitely be sharper and less reflective with the ClearBlack panel technology.

The Lumia 535 is powered by a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 quad core coupled with 1 GB RAM, whereas the Lumia 730 comes with 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM. Talking of the difference between the two, the Snapdragon 400 is better in graphic handling and in browser performance. However, this combination of processor and RAM should suffice in rendering an efficient platform for the Windows platform to sail through.

Camera and Internal Storage

In terms of imaging, there is a 5 MP rear camera on the Lumia 535 and this snapper is teamed up with auto focus and LED flash. The Nokia Lumia 730, on the other hand, flaunts a 6.7 MP primary camera with Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus and LED flash. When it comes to the front facer, both the smartphones are identical as they feature a 5 MP selfie camera with wide angle lens to capture wider shots. Also, the Nokia Selfie camera application lets editing, enhancing and sharing the clicked selfies with ease.


Again, on the storage front, both Lumia 535 and Lumia 730 are pretty identical as they pack 8 GB of native storage capacity that can be extended externally by another 128 GB using a micro SD card. Also, there is free 15 GB of OneDrive cloud storage space onboard.

Battery and Features

Microsoft has bestowed a 1,905 mAh battery on the Lumia 535 that is claimed to pump in 13 hours of 3G talk time and 23 days of standby time. On the other hand, the Lumia 730 gets energized by a 2,220 mAh that is rated to deliver 600 hours of standby time and 17 hours of talk time respectively.

Software wise, both the smartphones are powered by Windows Phone 8.1 platform with Lumia Denim update. They also have connectivity aspects such as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G. The Lumia 535 is preloaded with several Microsoft applications including Microsoft Office, Subway Surfers, Instagram and others.

Conclusion

The Lumia 535 has made headlines as it is the first ever Microsoft branded Lumia smartphone. Otherwise, it comes with less advanced specifications as the newly launched Lumia 730 though they suit the low pricing of the smartphone. Also, both the smartphones are focused on clicking impressive selfies as they arrive with wide angle front facers. However, if your choice is on a clearer and sharper display and a relatively higher backup, the Lumia 730 should be your choice.
