Xiaomi Mi4 VS Xiaomi Mi Note Comparison Overview

As expected, the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi unveiled couple of devices at the event held in Beijing. One of the devices is the Xiaomi Mi Note that is priced at 2,299 Yuan (approx. Rs 23,000). Today, we have come up with a detailed spec comparison between the yesteryear flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi4 and Xiaomi Mi Note. Have a look at the comparison below.

Display and Processor

The Xiaomi Mi4 is fitted with a 5 inch IPS LCD display that boasts of a FHD screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels that results in a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch. On the other hand, the Mi Note is bestowed with a 5.7 inch display that boasts of a similar FHD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels translating to 386 ppi pixel density. Though the latter packs in relatively lower pixels, it comes with dynamic contrast pixel adjustment technology that will improve the contrast of darker regions resulting in brighter images.

Both the smartphones are stuffed with identical Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processors ticking at 2.5 GHz clock speed. This is processor is aided by Adreno 330 graphics unit and 3 GB of RAM for effective graphic handling and swift multitasking respectively. This will undoubtedly make both the smartphones great powerhouses and competent enough in the market.

Camera and Internal Storage

Both the Xiaomi smartphones flaunt a 13 MP rear snappers with dual LED Flash for enhanced low light performance. But, the Mi Note appears to be a better offering as it comes with F2.0 wide aperture and 6p lens and Optical Image Stabilization. The difference also continues in the front camera as there is a 4 MP camera with a large 2 Micron pixel lens for better low light selfies and video conferencing in the Mi Note. On the other hand, the Mi 4 comes with an 8 MP selfie snapper with support for FHD 1080p video recording.


In the storage department, both the Xiaomi smartphones pack in 16 GB and 64 GB of storage capacities that cannot be expanded externally as there is no micro SD card slots onboard.

Battery and Storage

The Xiaomi Mi4 comes equipped with a 3,080 mAh battery that is marginally higher than the 3,000 mAh battery capacity of the Mi Note. Of course, the latter with a larger footprint will definitely require a more capacious battery as it will likely require more power.

Fueled by Android 4.4.3 KitKat with MIUI v5.0 UI and they pack in connectivity aspects such as dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Notably, there is a 2.5D curved glass at the front and a 3D curved glass at the back of the Mi Note. In comparison, the Xiaomi Mi4 comes with the IP67 dust and water resistance certification.

Conclusion

The Xiaomi Mi4 and Mi Note are devices aimed at users with varying requirements. They are similar in some segments such as raw hardware as they arrive with identical processor, RAM and storage departments. But, the Mi Note has a better imaging department with focus on low light performance, whereas the Mi4 excels in the battery segment. Otherwise, with similar software aspects, both the smartphones will render identical user experience.
