After slashing the price of Zenfone 5 16 GB, Asus has added another Zenfone 5 smartphone to its portfolio, which is also the cheapest Android phone to offer 2 GB RAM in India. The new Zenfone 5 8GB will ship with a different chipset, priced at just 7,999 INR.

Asus Zenfone 5 A501CG-2A508WWE has the same 5 inch display with 720p HD display (hopefully the same quality) with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. This new Zenfone will be powered by 1.2 GHz dual core Intel Atom Z2520 SoC, which is a downgrade from 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 present in original Zenfone 5.

The new Zenfone 5 8 GB will still hold on to 2 GB RAM and expandable storage option. This dual SIM device will be running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, which can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat.

For photography the phone employs the same 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera, which we liked on original Zenfone 5. The handset is 10.34 mm thick and follows the same design language as rest of the Zenfone series.
