Display and Processor

Samsung Galaxy S6 offers the best AMOLED screen while LG G4 showcases IPS LCD at its prime. It is hard to find fault with any of the displays, and which one is more appealing is more a matter of taste and size.

The Galaxy S6 is compact with narrow bezzels and 5.1 Inch QHD SAMOLED display, while G4 offers a larger 5.5 Inch QHD Quantum IPS LCD screen well suited for media consumption. G4 display is also curved which makes it fit snugly on your face while calling.

Both LG and Samsung ditched Snapdragon 810 for excessive heating. Samsung uses its own Exynos 7420 with octa core CPU, while LG opted for Snapdragon 808 hexa core chip. Since both run without any hint of lag, you won’t be wrong with either of the two. Having said that, Galaxy S6 wih Exynos 7420 has a couple of extra cores and the high performance cluster has higher clock frequency, which makes it perform a bit better in high end gaming.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4 both include excellent 16 MP rear cameras. Both of these camera’s challenge each other and even outperform iPhone 6. LG has more Megapixels for the front snapper, but we found Galaxy S6 to shoot better selfies with the 5 MP front shooter, though the difference is not much.

For the first time, Samsung has ditched expandable storage, but LG has still paved way for the MicroSD card slot. Galaxy S6 comes in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB variants, while LG G4 has 32 GB native storage, expandable by another 128 GB using MicroSD card slot.

User Interface and Battery

Samsung Galaxy S6 has sincerely axed most of the bloatware from TouchWiz and pushed options you rarely used deeper to reduce the clutter. LG Optimus 4.0 UI is still full loaded, though palatable. Which one suits you better would be a matter of personal taste.

Battery backup is much better on LG G4. While heavy users will have to charge their Galaxy S6 through the day, LG G4 can last full day even for demanding users. Both phones offer similar set of connectivity options, but Samsung Galaxy S6 benefits from

LG G4 is bigger and lasts longer and though the difference isn’t easily noticeable, Galaxy S6 is slightly faster. S6 also looks more premium with glass on front and back. Both phones have excellent camera’s and the primary consideration while deciding between the two should be whether you need a 5 Inch display phone or a 5.5 Inch one.
