Xiaomi launched its much awaited budget killer Redmi 3S in India this week. The phone comes with a huge 4100 mAh battery, 5 inches HD display and Android Marshmallow among others. It is the first phone in India with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor.
The phone is priced very reasonably at Rs. 6,999 for 2GB/16GB variant and Rs. 8,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant. In this article we will take a look at the camera review of the Xiaomi Redmi 3S.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S is equipped with a 13MP with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and phase detection autofocus that takes only 0.1s to focus on your subject. It features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama. It supports 1080p (Full HD) video recording @30fps. The camera also comes with 12 real time filters.
On the front it is equipped with a 5 MP shooter with F 2.2 aperture. It comes with Beautify that consists of 36 smart beauty profiles to enhance skin complexion, slim jawlines, brighten eyes and more. It also supports Full HD video recording for very good selfie videos.

Redmi 3s has almost every mode that we found on the Redmi Note 3 but it is short of few modes which also includes slow motion.
It also offers you a number of photo filters that can be used to make your pictures more interesting.

For testing the camera on the Redmi 3S, We took a few pictures of our usual objects, and also some selfies. Let us take a look at the quality of the samples.
Front Camera Samples
We took some selfies in natural and artificial light as well as in low light also. The camera quality was pretty decent for a 5 MP camera.
Rear Camera Samples
On the rear Redmi 3S is equipped with a 13 MP camera with LED flash and PDAF. Below are the samples in Artificial light, Natural light and Low light.
The low light performance is not as good as we expected. We clicked the batman and then moved our hand immediately and the result was the blurred image below. So, you may have to keep your hand still after clicking the picture in low light, for more than 5 seconds.
Xiaomi Redmi 3S is equipped with a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera, these specs are pretty nice for the price. The rear camera comes with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, HDR mode that combines 3 pictures to make aperfect one and phase detection autofocus that is claimed to take only 0.1s to focus on your subject.
The rear camera quality is good, it is at par with our expectations. The front camera is also as good as any of its competitors in this price segment. Overall, the phone has some brilliant specs other than camera that will surely make it the budget killer. But the camera is also not far behind, camera performance is almost same what we found in the Redmi Note 3, and leaving aside the low light lag, you can call it the best camera in its price segment.
