Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has silently launched a new device in its Y series in China. The device, dubbed as Vivo Y79 has been launched for CNY 2,498, which is roughly Rs. 24,500. It will go on sale from November 11 and be available in Champagne Gold, Matte Black, and Rose Gold color options.
The Vivo Y79 is similar to the Vivo V7+ that was launched in India some time ago. To recall, the device was launched for Rs. 21,990 and is available from Amazon India and Flipkart in Matte Black, Gold, and Rose Gold colors options.
Vivo Y79 Specifications
Starting with the build and design of the Vivo Y79, the device is made up of plastic and weighs 160 grams. While the rear camera and flash are placed on the top left of the back, a rear mounted fingerprint sensor is also present for fast unlocking.
The Vivo Y79 runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Funtouch OS 3.2 skinned on top. The device features a 5.99 inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.
In terms of performance, the Vivo Y79 is powered by an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor clocked at 1.8GHz clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU. The device comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
Coming to the camera department, the Vivo Y79 features a 16MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus, f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. On the front, the device sports a 24MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture and Moonlight selfie flash.
The device is powered by a 3,225mAh battery. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, microUSB 2.0 and FM Radio.
