Xiaomi’s Black Shark, a new gaming smartphone has been in the rumors for a quite while now but there was nothing confirmed. The smartphone previously surfaced on the benchmarking websites; AnTuTu and Geekbench, which is believed to be Xiaomi’s gaming smartphone with codename as Black Shark.

Now the official Black Shark account on Weibo has confirmed that the smartphone with the code name Black Shark will be powered by the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset.

The official Black Shark account on Weibo has posted a picture of the black shark logo and an illustration of a shark and a dragon oriented in a circular shape. Above the logo is written that the Black Shark gaming phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. Below the illustration, we can see a yellow Black Shark brand logo and the Qualcomm logo which further confirms the above statement.

According to some of the early rumors of the Black Shark that have surfaced on the internet suggest high-end specifications and hardware. The smartphone will feature 8GB RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo, along with an 18:9 aspect ratio display with FHD+ resolution.

The smartphone scored a total of 270680 on AnTuTu benchmark which is the highest of all smartphones so far. The smartphone scored 2452 for single core and 8452 for multi-core score on Geekbench which is at par with other smartphone featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. However, Xiaomi hasn’t officially confirmed any details about this gaming phone yet, so these details are still rumoured, but it is expected to launch in April or early May 2018.
