Design: Plastic vs Metal

Starting with the design, the Realme 2 Pro comes with a plastic body and has a glossy back that looks beautiful. Realme 2 Pro is slim and lightweight but the Motorola One Power feels a little bulky with 8.9mm thickness and more than 200 g weight.

The Motorola One Power, on the other hand, comes with a metal back. They both sport a full-screen notch display at the front, but the Realme Pro comes with a new dewdrop notch while Motorola has a regular notch.

Overall, in terms of design and build Realme 2 looks better, however, Motorola has a solid metal body.

Display: Dewdrop vs Regular Notch

Realme 2 Pro’s FHD+ display has 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and has a new dewdrop notch. The Motorola One Power has an FHD+ display screen resolution of 1080 x 2246 pixels and a regular notch on top. Both the screens are almost similar but Motorola’s brightness is good and colors are sharp. Bothn are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Cameras: Close Fight

Both the phones come with a dual rear camera setup. The Realme 2 Pro’s 16 MP (f/1.7,1.12µm)+ 5MP camera offers good detailing while Motorola’s 16 MP (f/1.8,1.12µm)+ 5 MP camera has better colors. Same goes with the front camera, Moto’s 12MP (f/2.0) selfie camera with AI features has better colors.

Whereas, Realme 2 Pro’s camera is good in detailing and has modes like Portrait mode, HDR imaging, and Professional. The front camera also supports AI Portrait, HDR, and Beauty.

The Motorola One Power’s dual rear camera also offers good detailing as well as good colors in all lighting conditions. It supports Portrait mode, HDR imaging, and Beauty modes. You can also record 4K videos on Motorola One Power at 30fps.

Hardware: Snapdragon 660 rules

The Realme 2 Pro comes with a powerful Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset, while the Motorola One Power gets Snapdragon 636 processor. Though Snapdragon 636 is also a powerful processor in the mid-range segment, Snapdragon 660 outperforms it.

Both the smartphone have LPDDR4 RAM. The Realme 2 Pro has up to 8GB RAM, the Motorola One Power comes in only one variant- 4GB RAM. Moreover, there is a frequency difference in both phones’ RAM.

If we talk about performance, we played PUBG Mobile on both the phones. On the Realme 2 Pro, you can play it in high graphics settings while Motorola One Power will cause a bit lag in high settings. Both the phones offer good gaming performance but Realme 2 Pro has an upper hand here.

Software: Color OS vs Android One

Realme 2 Pro comes with Oppo’s ColorOS 5.2 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. While the Motorola One Power runs stock Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box.

Motorola One Power looks good here with its clean UI. Also, since it is an Android One smartphone, it will also get Android 9.0 Pie, Android Q as well as more security updates.   it will get timely software updates also.

Battery: Motorola has more power

The Realme 2 Pro comes with a 3,500 mAh battery with fats charging support that can offer a day’s usage. The Motorola One Power wins here with its 5,000 mAh battery with Turbocharging technology.

Connectivity and Others

Both the phones support two Nano-SIM cards using dedicated SIM card slots. They both also support LTE and VoLTE networks. There is also a dedicated microSD card slot as well.

realme 2 pro

There is a drawback in Realme 2 Pro as it has micro USB port while Moto One Power has USB Type C port. Motorola also has bottom firing speakers that are powered by Dolby Audio.

Sensors on both the phones include similar Fingerprint Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Compass, and Gyroscope.

Price: Realme is more affordable

The Realme 2 Pro price starts at Rs. 13,990 and goes all the way up to Rs. 17,990. With 8GB RAM and Snapdragon 660, it becomes the cheapest smartphone. The Motorola One Power has been priced at Rs. 15,999 for the only 4GB/64GB variant. So, Realme 2 Pro with a better hardware is more affordable in this segment.

Concluding, both the smartphones fight head to head in all the areas. In terms of design and looks, Realme is better with its glossy back and a new notch display. It is also better in terms of hardware and its camera is also equally good. If you are not more into stock Android and a big battery, Realme 2 Pro is a good deal under Rs. 15,000 in India.
