OnePlus 7T Pro Vs OnePlus 7 Pro: What’s new and different?

OnePlus has launched OnePlus 7T Pro in London yesterday. The successor to OnePlus 7 Pro comes with some upgraded features but mostly has similar specs. To recall, OnePlus announced the OnePlus 7 series back in May with two phones. The 7 Pro, being more premium came with some high-end features like 90Hz display and a triple camera set up at back.

But now when OnePlus has introduced the OnePlus 7T Pro with new features including upgraded hardware, is it worth to buy the OnePlus 7 Pro? Let’s find out in this comparison.

OnePlus 7T Pro Vs OnePlus 7 Pro

Design

The new OnePlus 7T Pro and 7 Pro have many similarities, including their design. They both come with 3D Gorills Glass back and are identical in thickness and weight too. The 7T Pro comes in a Haze Blue color only with a new matte finish. Whereas the OnePlus 7 Pro comes in Mirror Gray, Nebula Blue, and Almond color options. These also have a vertical triple camera setup on the rear and a full screen at the front with a pop-up camera.

Display

The two phones also sport the same display which is a 6.67-inch Quad-HD+ (1440×3120 pixels) Fluid AMOLED panel with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass protection. The display on both phones also supports the 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10.


Cameras

If we talk about the camera capabilities, both OnePlus 7T Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro have the same setup including a 48-megapixel f/1.6 main camera, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle-camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera for 3X zoom. They both also sport a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera.

Hardware

The OnePlus 7T Pro is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This chipset is an overclocked version of Snapdragon 855 and has a Kryo 485 CPU at 2.96GHz.

The OnePlus 7 Pro, on the otehr hand, is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and it is coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

Software

Both OnePlus 7T Pro and OnePlus 7 Pro run on Android 10 with OxygenOS 10 on top. The 7 Pro was launched with Android 9 but it recently received the latest Android update.

Battery and Fast Charging

The OnePlus 7T Pro has a bigger battery compared to the OnePlus 7 Pro and comes with a 4,085mAh capacity battery while there is a 4,000mAh battery on the 7 Pro.

Talking about fast charging, the 7T Pro offers new Warp Charge 30T Fast Charging which is said to be 23 percent faster than the Warp Charge 30 on OnePlus 7 Pro.

Price

OnePlus 7T Pro is priced at Rs. 53,999 for the only 8GB + 256GB model. While the OnePlus 7 Pro starts at Rs. 48,999 for the base 6GB + 128GB model and if you buy its 8GB + 256GB model, it will cost Rs. 52,999. The 7 Pro also comes in the 12GB + 256GB model which is priced at Rs. 57,999.

Wrapping Up

The OnePlus 7T Pro is very much similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro, having only a couple of changes. You get an upgraded processor as well as a slightly bigger battery with improved fast charging. So, if you’re confused between the OnePlus 7T and 7 Pro, you should see the changes, that will not matter much in day to day usage and you can save yourself some money. But for those looking for a 8GB/256GB model, the 7T Pro would be a great device.
