Redmi Note 8 Pro Launched in India Starting at Rs. 14,999: Full Specs & Availability

Redmi Note 8 Pro was finally launched in India today as promised. The world’s first smartphone to feature 64MP Samsung GW1 Sensor and also the first phone to be powered by Helio G90T SoC comes to India after being launched in China back in August. It is also the first in its price range that features liquid cooling.

Xiaomi‘s latest phone in Note series is also the first phone to support TÜV Rheinland High-Performance Network Connection. Unlike the Redmi Note 8, it packs a 4,500mAh battery with several fast-charging protocols and a 20MP selfie camera.

The Note 8 Pro packs a slightly bigger 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD screen. It also features a 3D glass back curved on the four sides and comes in White, Green and Black colors. The Indian version also comes with built-in Alexa integration.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications

The Redmi Note 8 Pro sports a 6.53-inch (2340 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ display with 2.05mm top frame, 1.8mm left and right borders and 4.2mm bottom chin, thus offering a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio. The screen has TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The phone is powered by the latest MediaTek Helio G90T processor with Mali-G76 GPU. It also comes with liquid cooling that reduces the temperature by 4 to 6 degrees. The phone packs up to 8GB LPPDDR4x RAM and up to128GB UFS 2.1 storage.

The quad-camera set up on the phone sports a 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, EIS, an 8MP 120° ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera for 2cm macro shots. It sports a 20MP front camera.

The device packs a 4,500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0/4+, USB PD and MediaTek Pump Express support. With 18W fast charger, you can charge it to 50% in 36 minutes and 100% in 1 hour and 53 minutes.

Connectivity options include triple slots, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 and is upgradable to MIUI 11.

The device sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and an IR sensor. It sports splash resistant body with an IP52 rating. Dimensions of the phone are 161.3×76.4×8.79mm and its weight is 199.8g.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro price in India starts at Rs. 14,999 for the 6GB + 64GB version. The 6GB + 128GB version is priced at Rs. 15,999 and the top-end 8GB + 128GB version costs Rs. 17,999. The handset will be available from October 21 via Amazon.in and Mi.com.
