One of the most popular mobile games of recent times was banned on the grounds of stealing user data and sharing it in an unauthorized manner. After the ban, it was teased several times that PUBG India would return, and finally, it has been confirmed by the developer that it will return as “Battlegrounds Mobile India”. Here, we have explained the new Battlegrounds Mobile India’s privacy policy so you know which data will be collected and how it will be used.

Battlegrounds Mobile India Privacy Policy
Krafton Inc, a South Korea-based gaming company is now launching the game in India. Recently, it posted a teaser on its YouTube channel to confirm the launch and also posted the official logo of the game just today.

The company has released its privacy policy on the official website in order to make it clear that they are not going to steal any user data. Read on to know whether your data will be safe this time or not.
Q 1. What user data will be collected?
The data collected by users fall into three categories: i) information collected directly, ii) information collected automatically, and iii) information collected from third parties.
i) Information collected directly from you: The game will NOT collect any data directly from you.
ii) Information collected automatically: It will automatically collect some info when you use its services, which includes:
- Your Device Info (OS version, browser, & settings),
- IP address, and,
- Your browsing behavior while using its services.
iii) Information collected from third parties: It will NOT collect data from third parties.
Q 2. How your data will be used?
The company will use the collected data for a variety of purposes. Primarily, it will use the data to provide the service to players and to improve the quality. These services include:
- Solving technical issues and improving the quality of the service, and
- Tracking usage patterns, analyzing trends of players, and calculating statistics.
The company further clarifies that most of the time it will process your info to perform the contract that you have with it and to comply with applicable rules. Moreover, from time to time, it may also ask for your consent to use your data and you may withdraw your consent at any time.
Q 3. With whom will your data be shared?
The company will give permission to third parties including some service providers to process personal information to provide customer support and to manage our community. These third parties include:
- Company’s business partners,
- Cloud computing service providers to offer cloud storage services,
- Marketing platforms and analytics services relating to players’ behavior.
Apart from this, the company may also share your data where it is essential to comply with a legal obligation or any other lawful request.
Q 4. Will your data be transferred to other countries?
Your data will be stored on servers located in India and Singapore. However, the company may transfer your data to other countries or regions to operate the game service or to meet legal requirements. In this event of a transfer, it promises to make sure that your data remain protected as it remained in India.
Q 5. Will your data be deleted after you close your account?
The company says that it will delete your personal data after its purpose of collecting is achieved. The data stored in physical form will be shredded, and stored electronically will be removed using such measures that it cannot be reproduced.
However, Krafton may retain some of your personal data even after you close your account, if retention of your data is reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations such as resolving disputes, preventing fraud, cheating or abuse, etc.
Q 6. Is there any separate policy for kids or underage players?
The company does not knowingly collect, use or share any data for under 18 players without parental consent. So, if you are under 18, you will be asked to provide your parent or guardian’s phone number to confirm that you are legally eligible to play it.
Also, if you are a parent or guardian and your child under 18 has provided us with data without your consent, you can contact us and request your child’s data to be deleted.
Q 7. Can you request to delete your data?
