Xiaomi Redmi 4 Camera UI
As with every Xiaomi smartphone, the Redmi 4 comes preloaded with MIUI 8. This means the camera UI is pretty similar to devices like the Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, Redmi 3S, etc. The controls are very simple and well arranged.
There are lots of shooting modes in the Redmi 4 which includes HDR, Panorama, Burst Mode, face recognition, and numerous real-time filters. Unfortunately, the manual focus mode is absent. Nevertheless, capturing still images and recording Full HD 1080p videos, both are a breeze with Xiaomi’s latest handset.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 Sample Photos
Specification-wise, we have nothing to complain about the camera of the Redmi 4 considering its price bracket. However, the thing which actually matters is how it performs in real life. We have taken the Redmi 4 to capture images in various lighting conditions, starting from broad daylight to extremely low light. Let’s see the results.
Daylight
Artificial Light
Low Light
Looking at the images, we can safely conclude that the Redmi 4 has done its job quite well. The daylight sample photos have a generous amount of details and well-balanced colors. The smartphone also shines under artificial or indoor lighting conditions. However, the Redmi 4 is just an average phone to shoot in low light. This is actually pretty acceptable considering its price range, where most of other handsets fail miserably in low light shooting.
Conclusion
The 13 MP rear camera of the Xiaomi Redmi 4 is fairly good for an under Rs. 10,000 smartphone if you want the 2 GB or 3 GB RAM variant. The 4 GB RAM variant has been priced at Rs. 10,999. Its primary competitors include the Honor 6X, Lenovo K6 Power, Redmi 3S, etc. If you want a decent camera, in a phone costing around Rs. 10,000, you can definitely go for the Xiaomi Redmi 4.
