Moto X has gone on sale in India for Rs 23,999 and it will be spoiling the consumers for choice between the Rs 20,000-25,000 segment for sure. One such device which will face the heat of the launch of the Moto X is the Micromax Canvas Knight which was recently launched for Rs 19,999. Let us how the two fare against each other, whether the Moto X is worth the price difference and which one should you go in for.

Display and Processor

The Canvas Knight comes shod with a 5 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It has a pixel density of 441 ppi and is a pretty bright unit to look at. On the other hand, the Moto X comes with a 4.7 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which has a pixel density of 312 ppi. It is a good one as well but we’ll have to give this one to Canvas Knight.

Under the hood of the Moto X is a dual core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor which can put a slew of quad core devices to shame with its level of performance. It couples up with a 2GB RAM to ensure that you are never out of memory when multitasking. The Canvas Knight gets a 2GHz Octa Core Mediatek MT6582 unit to power it which makes it a pretty capable performer when coupled with a 2GB RAM. This one goes to the Canvas Knight too.

Camera and Internal Storage

Moto X gets a 10MP ClearPixel camera with Omnivision sensor that produces some really high quality images. It gets a 2MP camera up front which is no match for the 8MP front camera unit of the Canvas Knight. Things are different at the rear as the 16MP primary camera unit of the Canvas Knight comes a close second to the Moto X.

Canvas Knight comes with an internal storage capacity of 32GB which can not be expanded due to the absence of a microSD card slot whereas the Moto X gets 16GB ¬†of internal storage which can not be expanded as well. The Canvas Knight has double the memory compared to Moto X and when there’s no external storage capacity, more internal storage surely makes a lot more sense.

Battery and Operating System

The Canvas Knight comes with a battery unit of 2,350 mAh which offers up to 7.5 hours of talk time and the Moto X offers up to 13 hours of talk time. Needless to say, the Moto X comes across as a way better alternative if battery backups are something you desire.

Canvas Knight runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean whereas the Moto X runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. Do we really need to say which one’s better in this regard? And on top of it Moto X runs an almost stock version of Android so this one goes to the Moto X as well.

Conclusion

Moto X as well as the Canvas Knight are pretty capable devices in their own regard and will surely be spoiling the consumers for choice. The Moto X gets optimised pretty well and won’t make you feel if it is a dual core device. It has a better camera and offers a build quality that Canvas Knight can’t match up to. But it has a better screen, front camera, processor and internal storage. Its a close call and we’ll leave it to you to decide based upon your personal preferences.
