Leading India based tech firm, Micromax has announced the launch of a new tablet in its Canvas Tab lineup dubbed Canvas Tab P666. The firm has partnered with the chip maker Intel for this device and hence, the tablet makes use of an Intel chipset under its hood. Eventually, the Canvas Tab P666 becomes the first Intel powered Micromax device that feature an elegant glass finish and great aesthetics.
The Micromax Canvas Tab P666 is given an 8 inch IPS display with HD screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels that is pretty standard. It is claimed that the display can provide dynamic contrast and better color vibrancy with great graphic quality.
The slate is energized by a 1.2 GHz dual core Intel Atom Z2520 processor that comes with the Hyper Threading technology. This technology will help the device to execute instructions faster be splitting them between the cores and hence renders faster performance and saves the battery life significantly. Also, the chipset is paired with PowerVR SGX544 graphics unit and 1 GB of RAM as well.
Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, the Micromax-Intel tablet bundles 8 GB of native storage capacity that can be extended externally by another 32 GB using a micro SD card. For imaging, the Canvas Tab P666 uses a 5 MP primary snapper and a 2 MP front facing selfie camera. The slate also makes use of a juicy 4,400 mAh battery that can pump in a decent backup to it. The device supports 3G connectivity and hence, voice calling using Hangouts and other such applications.
Furthermore, the Canvas Tab P666 is pre-loaded with several applications such as M!Games to play high quality games online, M!live to download unlimited latest Bollywood, Regional videos, music, wallpapers, mobile games and applications, Bookmyshow to book, buy and check movie tickets, show timings, schedule, reviews and news and Hike instant messaging service. Also, there is Swift Key, a smart prediction technology, Dr. Safety virus scanning system certified as the best to stop malicious Android apps and Opera Mini Browser for fast browsing with maximum data savings.
Micromax has priced the tablet at Rs 10,999 and it will be going on sale on November 29.
