Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is reportedly going to run Independence Day offer on Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge models. According to a report from Gadgetsnow, the offer will go live starting from today via both offline and online channels.

As part of the Independence Day offer, Samsung will give guaranteed cash back of Rs. 8,000 on the purchase of Galaxy S7 Edge 128GB model, which is currently selling for Rs. 48,900. This brings the effective price down to Rs. 40,900. At this price point, the all new OnePlus 5 and LG G6 are also worth considering.

For the Galaxy S7 which is retailing around Rs. 39,400, Samsung is giving assured cashback of Rs. 4,000.

Moreover, Samsung is also offering exchange discount upto Rs. 12,000 on the purchase of either of the two phones.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

To recap, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge features a 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels with a pixel density of ~534 PPI. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with TouchWiz UI on top.

Handling the processing is an octa-core Exynos 8890 processor. The phone comes with 4 GB RAM and 32/128 GB UFS2.0 storage, expandable with a microSD card.

Galaxy S7 Edge features a 12 MP f/2.1 aperture Dual Pixel camera with OIS, LED flash, 4K video recording and slow-mo recording support. The front camera is a 5 MP unit with an f/1.7 aperture.

Other features include fingerprint sensor, IP68 certification and wireless charging support. The phone also features a dual SIM card slot (hybrid), 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS and FM Radio.

Powering the Galaxy S7 Edge is a 3600 mAh battery with fast charging support.

The Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display, which is .4 inches lesser than the Galaxy S7 Edge. Both the phones have has Quad HD resolution (1440×2560)display with always on display technology. Always on display allows the users to keep a check on time, notifications and battery status without waking the device up. However, the S7 doesn’t have a dual edge screen compared to S7 Edge.
