Vivo X5Pro, the smartphone which can scan your eyes using front camera will launch in India on 22nd July. Those of you familiar with Vivo, will know that it isn’t another chinese brand trying to offer bucket load of features for an astonishingly cheap price. The device is expected to launch for under 30K in India.
The 8 MP front camera which integrates eye-scanning technology, can also capture 32 MP images with software interpolation. The rear 13 MP camera on the other hand can capture 4k videos.
This one too is a slim smartphone, measuring just 6.4 mm. A 5.2 inch super AMOLED display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 on top and full HD 1080P resolution has also been included. At the heart of the device, you will find 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 615 octa core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz.

Other features include Android 5.0 Lollipop based FunTouch OS, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB Storage, 128 GB MicroSD card support, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS and a non removable 2450 mAh battery.
The handset shares some similarities with Vivo X5Max, which was Vivo’s launch vehicle in India. The company hasn’t made much noise ever since, but that is because it is more focused on building its offline retail network. We will have to wait to find out of if the eye scanner or 32 MP software interpolation adds any more value or is more gimmick to be wary of.
