Goophone is quite popular for cloning high end devices from tier one manufacturers. The Chinese manufacturer was last in news for cloning Galaxy S5 just one day after its launch. The company has now cloned the upcoming smartphone New HTC One, even before its official launch.
The resemblance is however limited to the exterior body design and that too lacks the dual rear lenses which are expected to be present in the all new HTC One. Other hardware is not high end, put is still quite decent.
The Goophone M8 is powered by 1.7 GHz MT6592 Octa core chipset. The processor is backed by 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The display is 5 inches in size with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.
The rear camera has a 12.6 MP sensor and at the front 5 MP shooter is present for selfies and video calling. The design is more similar to HTC One rather than the New HTC One. On the software front the phone runs on Android 4.2 jelly bean operating system.
The Goophone Knock-off can be bought for $230 which is not that bad for the hardware that it packs. It is available in black, silver and gold. HTC will unleash the successor of the very successful HTC One at a March 25 event.
