Oppo mobiles is rapidly expanding its portfolio in India and after OPPO Joy, the company will now introduce Oppo Yoyo with MediaTek MT6582 quad core chipset and 4.7 inch display pretty soon. The smartphone is expected to land in lower mid range segment dominated by phones like Moto G.
The 4.7 inch IPS LCD display sports modest quarter HD resolution with 960 x 540 pixels. Coming from the OPPO camp, the display is expected to feature good color and viewing angles.
The chipset used is the ubiquitous MT6582 budget quad core ticking at 1.3 GHz, which has proven to be a decent performer so far. The processor is further aided by 1 GB RAM and standard 4 GB internal storage expandable using MicroSD support.
The primary camera has a 5MP sensor. You will get auto focus and led flash too. For those interested in video calling, a 2 MP snapper is also present at the front. Overall the imaging hardware is elementary on paper. On the software front you will get Android 4.2
The battery rated at 1900 mAh is removable. It is not yet clear how much backup you can squeeze out of the modest battery, but we are expecting a one day moderate usage. Also onboard is Dual SIM dual Standby connectivity. Connectivity features include WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS with AGPS support.
The phone is expected to have a best buy price south of 15,000 INR. OPPO Mobiles has an aggressive road map for 2014 which includes alluring options like onsite warranty. If Oppo manages competitive pricing, it will definitely help its cause in price sensitive Indian market.
