Nokia 6.1 Plus India Launch Likely Soon, Hints Official Teaser

HMD Global could launch the Nokia 6.1 Plus in India soon, according to a teaser on Twitter by the company. The teaser suggests that HMD is planning a big launch event in India and wants its fans to be a part of it, although it doesn’t reveal which phone will be launched.

The Nokia 6.1 Plus is the global variant of the Nokia X6 which debuted in China. The Nokia 6.1 Plus as an Android One smartphone was launched in Hong Kong last month and the same is now expected to reach India soon.

The Twitter teaser from Nokia Mobile redirects fans to a page where fans can write about a specific Nokia experience they have had. HMD will select a few lucky users’ entries and they will attend the launch event. Since no details about the event have been revealed, so we cannot say when or where it will be held.

If we talk about the phone, we have already got a hint through an official support page for the Nokia 6.1 Plus has gone live in India last month. It is also possible that HMD Global will launch multiple devices at this event, including the Nokia 5.1 Plus.

If we talk about specifications of the Nokia 6.1 Plus or Nokia X6, it sports a 5.8-inch FHD+ (1080×2280 pixels) notch display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 and 19:9 aspect ratio. The dual-SIM smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo and features Android One.

In terms of camera, it has a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP+ 5MP sensors. For selfies, there is a 16MP sensor along with a f/2.0 aperture and Face Unlock support. The cameras also support AI features like optimized color contrast, depth of field, HDR support and a Bothie mode.

It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM, and 64GB of onboard storage that is expandable via microSD card. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C port. The smartphone packs a 3060mAh battery.
