Redmi Note 7S Vs Realme 3 Pro: Which one should you buy?

Redmi Note 7S is the latest phone from the Chinese company. Basically its a Redmi Note 7 with a 48MP camera. Other features are same like dot notch display, glass back, 4000mAh battery, etc. The Redmi Note 7S price starts at Rs. 10,999 and goes up to Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB version.

At this price point, Xiaomi‘s rival Realme has its Realme 3 Pro with some similar features. Let’s find out which of these two phones is a better value for your money.

Design: Glass Vs Polycarbonate

The Redmi Note 7S comes with a premium glass back body that too with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also has a splash-proof body with P2i nano-coating. The device is compact and can be used by one hand easily. It comes in Black, Red, and Blue colors.

The Realme 3 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a plastic body with a shiny 3D look that the company calls 3D Speedway design. The thickness of the phone is 8.3mm which is also good for one hand usage. It comes in Blue, Grey, and Purple colors.

Winner: Redmi Note 7S.

Display: Kinda same

Coming to the display, they both sport a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 ×1080 pixels) IPS display with a small on the top. They both also have Gorilla Glass 5 protection on their display.

Both offer good brightness level, sharp colors and daylight visibility is also good.

Processor: SD 660 Vs SD 710

The Redmi Note 7S is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor based on process 14nm technology. It is paired with Adreno 512 GPU and up to 4GB RAM. This processor has Kryo 250 CPUs clocked at up to 2.2GHz.

While Realme 3 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 710 processor based on 10nm technology. It is paired with Adreno 616 GPU and up to 6GB RAM. It has Kryo 360 CPUs that are clocked at up to 2.2GHz. The Snapdragon 710 is a more powerful processor in terms of gaming and multitasking.

Winner: Realme 3 Pro.

Cameras: 48MP Vs 64MP

The Redmi Note 7S has dual cameras at the back with a 48MP primary Samsung GM1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture. It can offer 12MP image using super pixel tech, however, you can also click 48MP pictures in Pro mode. It has a 5MP secondary camera for depth.

It has a 13MP selfie camera with AI beautify, AI portrait and face unlock features.

The Realme 3 Pro also comes with a dual camera set up at the back with a 16 MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture and Sony IMX 519 sensor. It also has a 5MP depth sensor. It comes with a 64MP Ultra HD mode in which you can get 64MP resolution pictures, achieved by combining four pixels into one.

It has a 25 MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. It’s front camera also supports Portrait, AI and Beauty modes.

Software: MIUI Vs ColorOS

The Redmi Note 7S runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. The Realme 3 Pro also runs on Android 9 Pie with Color OS 6 on top.  Both the custom UIs are based on the latest Android experience and also have their own set of features. We again leave the decision on users.

Battery and Connectivity: It’s a tie

The Redmi Note 7S gets power from a big 4000mAh battery. It comes with 18W Quick Charge 4 fast charging support but it doesn’t have a fast charger in the box.

The Realme 3 Pro also packs a big 4,050mAh battery that supports OPPO’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging. It comes with a 20W fast charger in the box as well.

For connectivity, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a hybrid card slot, while the Realme 3 Pro supports two Nano-SIM cards and a micro SD card using dedicated slots.

Winner: Realme 3 Pro.

Verdict

These phones have some decent features at an almost similar price tag. They both sport similar FHD+ notch displays and also offer good camera results. So, if you want a good looking phone that too at a slightly less price, you can go for Redmi Note 7S. But if you are looking for better gaming performance and better connectivity features, as well as a fast charger in the box, Realme 3 Pro is still a good choice.
